Chandler PD Motorcycle Safety Course

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Unit is organizing a motorcycle training course for civilians. The training session is exclusively for female riders and is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 7:00am – 3:00pm. The course will be held at the Chandler Public Safety Training Center parking lot, located at 3550 South Dobson Road. The primary objective of this course is to educate the public on the safe operation of a motorcycle. The Department’s Traffic Unit members will administer and facilitate the course. The training is open to riders of all levels of experience. However, applicants must provide their own motorcycle and safety equipment and have the appropriate endorsements on their driver’s licenses. Due to space constraints, only the first 22 applicants will be admitted. INFORMATION

Class size is limited to 30 students. A lottery system may be used to determine participants. Driver’s license status will be confirmed for each student prior to the date of the class. Each student is required to have:

  1. Motorcycle that is in good repair
  2. DOT approved motorcycle helmet that is either ¾ or full-face
    • Off-road helmets are ok
    • No half helmets will be permitted
    • Snell certified helmets that are less than 5 years old are preferred
  3. Sturdy over-the-ankle boots
  4. Long pants and long sleeve shirt or jacket
  5. Sturdy full-fingered gloves, preferably leather
  6. Eye protection such as safety glasses, helmet face shield or sunglasses

Students will be required to sign a waiver of liability prior to course participation
